Adjustable Welding Roller Beds

Adjustable Welding Roller Beds

Adjustable welding roller beds are positioning equipment that rotate the workpiece by means of friction between the driving rollers and the weldment. Driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer or a worm gear reducer, they are mainly used for welding, polishing, and assembly of cylindrical workpieces. An adjustable welding roller bed consists of a driving roller unit and a driven roller unit. The drive system employs a variable-frequency speed-control motor, which drives the roller unit through the reducer to rotate the workpiece for welding.

Adjustable Welding Roller Beds

Product Overview
Adjustable welding roller beds are positioning equipment that rotate the workpiece by means of friction between the driving rollers and the weldment. Driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer or a worm gear reducer, they are mainly used for welding, polishing, and assembly of cylindrical workpieces. An adjustable welding roller bed consists of a driving roller unit and a driven roller unit. The drive system employs a variable-frequency speed-control motor, which drives the roller unit through the reducer to rotate the workpiece for welding.

Performance Features

  • Adjustable Center Distance, Strong Adaptability: The center distance between rollers can be adjusted via a lead screw or by screw-type step adjustment to accommodate workpieces of varying diameters. The applicable workpiece diameter ranges from 250 mm to 8,000 mm, meeting diverse production requirements.

  • Smooth Transmission, Reliable Load Capacity: Driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer or worm gear reducer, the equipment provides high output torque and smooth, reliable operation. Both the base and the roller stands are welded structures, effectively eliminating internal welding stresses and preventing deformation.

  • Precise Speed Regulation, Flexible Control: Equipped with an imported frequency inverter for infinitely variable speed control, offering a wide speed range, high precision, and high starting torque. The roller linear speed generally ranges from 100 to 1,000 mm/min. The handheld control box is simple and reliable, and the electrical control cabinet is pre-wired with interlock ports to enable integrated control with welding manipulators and other equipment.

  • Multiple Roller Options, Workpiece Protection: Rollers are available in three types: rubber rollers, steel rollers, and steel-rubber combination rollers. For easily scratchable workpieces such as stainless steel, polyurethane rubber rollers can be selected, which not only protect the workpiece surface but also offer high wear resistance. The optimized roller width effectively reduces the possibility of plastic deformation on the workpiece surface, making it particularly suitable for thin-walled cylindrical workpieces.

  • Anti-Axial Drift, Stable Operation: Equipped with an anti-axial drift control function, limiting drift deviation to within ±3 mm. The wrap angle of the rollers on the cylinder ensures smooth, safe, and reliable workpiece rotation with low transmission noise.

Application Scope
Adjustable welding roller beds are widely used in industries such as wind power, pressure vessels, petrochemicals, piping, steel structures, boilers, shipbuilding, and surfacing repair. They are primarily used for welding, polishing, rubber lining, and assembly of cylindrical shells. When combined with a welding manipulator and welding power source, they enable automatic welding of internal and external longitudinal seams and circumferential seams. In addition, they can be used with other fixtures for the assembly and welding of cones and segmented non-cylindrical rotating bodies. By adjusting the height of the driving and driven rollers, they are also suitable for assembling and welding tapered and segmented bodies of varying diameters.
